Virtual Connect: Question about direct connect
Howdy!
Jim wants to know about direct connect option with VC:

Do we support VC-VC direct network connections between two C7000’s for East-West traffic in a non-stacked environment (separate VC Domains)? Or, would this need to go through a switch?

Yes it's supported but with 2 limitations
1) We can only do it between 2 VC Domains. So if no stacking, then only 2 enclosures.
2) The network(s) going between the enclosures are only accessible between the blades in those 2 domains. You cannot bounce that network out another uplink to the rest of the network. So be sure these are heartbeat or vMotion or other networks not requiring routing.
I also recommend setting the uplink to Failover mode so you can force who is Primary and who is Standby.
