c7000 virtual connect LACP with ProCurve 2910al-24G
Hi,
this is my scenario:
2 switch 2910al-24G
1 c7000 with 2 virtual connect
1 ProLiant BL420c Gen8
some other servers (outside the enclosure) each one connected to both switch
What I want to do is have 2GB bandwidth on the blade with a LACP trunk.
I connected 2 SFP-RJ45 1GB adapters (from the same virtual connect) to one of my switch.
I created an Ethernet Network that includes the 2 adapters with Smart link enabled, connection mode auto and default LACP timer.
I created and assigned a server profile that include the Network profile just created.
Over my switch I configured the two ports with mode = auto, flow control = enabled, LACP status = passive.
On my switch i correctly see an automatic lacp trunk group created
PORT LACP TRUNK PORT LACP LACP
NUMB ENABLED GROUP STATUS PARTNER STATUS
---- ------- ------- ------- ------- -------
7 Passive Dyn1 Up Yes Success
9 Passive Dyn1 Up Yes Success
On virtual connect uplink ports I correctly see the 2 ports active and with same LAG ID (reading on the official documentation it means the LACP trunk is running)
Finally I started transfering data from 2 servers (located outside the enclosure with 1 gb bandwidth each) to the blade just configured
What I expected was see 2 GB but I saw just 1GB
Monitoring the switch's ports I saw all the traffic pass throw just one port leaving the second one in the trunk basically idle
I also tried a static LACP on my switch
PORT LACP TRUNK PORT LACP LACP
NUMB ENABLED GROUP STATUS PARTNER STATUS
---- ------- ------- ------- ------- -------
7 Active Trk2 Up Yes Success
9 Active Trk2 Up Yes Success
but I got same result just 1 GB
Any idea?
