iPerf Testing on XenServer 6.2 hosts with Virtual Connect FW 4.10

Hello,

I'm trying to test bandwidth using iPerf between 2 blades (BL460c G7) in the same blade chassis running XenServer 6.2. Both hosts are connected to Virtual Connect 10gb/24 port module running the latest version of firmware (4.10).

I have assigned the custom the custom port speed to 6Gb (see attached) but testing with iPerf I can only get approx 2Gb/s which was what the port was originally set to.

------------------------------------------------------------
Server listening on TCP port 5001
TCP window size: 85.3 KByte (default)
------------------------------------------------------------
[  4] local 10.32.4.83 port 5001 connected with 10.32.4.84 port 43628
[  4]  0.0-10.0 sec  2.60 GBytes  2.23 Gbits/sec

Do I need to reset the hosts to see the bandwidth increase? I read that the change was dynamic. Is it correct that if I'm connecting from one host to another host using the ethernet network that is defined in Virtual Connect the traffic should travel internally only and not via the external switch?

Thanks1
