"Invalid SOAP response" when trying to create vc domain

Hi,

I'm installing two VC switches to replace some GbE2c's in our enclosure. I have done this before on another enclosure and not had any problems but this time I get an "invalid SOAP response" 5-10 minutes after trying to import the enclosure and create the domain.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I have tried restarting the onboard administrator and the virtual connect switches but keep getting the same thing.

VC firmware is 3.15

OA firmware is 3.20

I have not seen this error in the forums that I watch. I will see what i can find out.

My experts have not seen this error as well:

"Since it is OA version 3.20 I’m not aware of any SOAP errors on the OA."

I would suggest you log a support call.

I have logged a support call but the advice from HP has not been that helpful.

I suspect a hardware issue as I am unable to force an upgrade (to the same version) on the switch. I will try to replace the hardware and see if I get the same problem

I am also getting the fault at the moment with the same configuration

I have seen this happen when the enclosure fails to import correctly during the vc first time wizard. You can get past that section but then you start seeing the SOAP errors when trying to create the domain.

When you run the vc wizard make sure this part of the process completes.

Try reimporting the enclosure?

Sorry, missed the important bit. I fixed this by stripping the enclosure down to just one VC module and re-running the vc wizard.

The enclosure imported ok and i could create the domain. I then added the second module and was able to match up firmware versions with vcsu.
