time is lost when moving a server profile from one blade to another

Hello there,

I'm a Virtual connect newbie and I have a problem with time settings :

- On a virtual connect switch I have a server running on a blade system with a profile
- I move the profile to another blade. The Mac adress and Fibre Channel address of the server are transfered to the new blade

- I restart the server on the new blade.

The time of the bios is not transfered. So when I move a profil from one blade to another one, the time is lost and the delay is too long to be recovered by ntp client

Is there a way to avoid to adjust the bios time before rebooting the server on the new blade ?

I think it should be automated.

Thanks

ML

VC will not store the time for the server.
Your best bet is to use proper NTP settings from the host OS or for Windows it should sync to the AD controller.
