vc flex10 connected to Cisco catalyst uplinks ports are not going up

Hi guys I have a vc flex-10 connected to Cisco catalyst switch 1G

I have configured only one vnet on the vc and I have configure it to support vlan tunneling and I have configured the external port as a a dedicated port . I did that because I need it to pass server vlan tags without being modified. the speed on the uplink is configured as auto

on the other side i have cisco catalyst switch of speed 1g

the vnet on the vc is showing a failing satus and like there is no connection and the vs status is degrated like it is shown in the attached file.

the config of the cisco catalyst is as the following

interface GigabitEthernet1/1/19

switchport

switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q

switchport mode trunk

switchport nonegotiate

spanning-tree portfast edge trunk

spanning-tree bpduguard enable

end

is there any way to make vc and the catalyst comunicates?

1)  the sfp could be the problem? if yes how to check  the compatibility of the sfp on both side and what type of fc cables should be used?

2) if no please assist what could be the problem ?

thanks for your help

Re: vc flex10 connected to Cisco catalyst uplinks ports are not going up

hi all

the solution was that sfp were not compatible on cisco catalyst the sfp is 1gb and on the vc flex-10 it sfp-sr so when we have installed a 10gb module on the catalyst with sfp-sr everything works good

I would check that the SFPs are the correct version for the media and the switch. I've had nightmares before with incompatible SFPs.

If my post was helpful please award me Kudos! or Points :)
