adding a vlan to interconnect switch

first, if on my interconnect switch that is up and running and has this: >> Information# port Port Tag RMON PVID NAME VLAN(s) ---- --- ---- ---- -------------- ------------------------- 1 y d 1*Downlink1 1 4 70 85 2 6 100 2 y d 1*Downlink2 1 4 70 85 2 6 100 3 y d 1*Downlink3 1 4 70 85 2 6 100 4 y d 1*Downlink4 1 4 70 85 2 6 100 5 y d 1*Downlink5 1 4 70 85 2 6 100 6 y d 1*Downlink6 1 4 70 85 2 6 100 7 y d 1*Downlink7 1 4 70 85 2 6 100 8 y d 1*Downlink8 1 4 70 85 2 6 100 9 y d 1*Downlink9 1 4 70 85 2 6 100 10 y d 1*Downlink10 1 4 70 85 2 6 100 11 y d 1*Downlink11 1 4 70 85 2 6 100 12 y d 1*Downlink12 1 4 70 85 2 6 100 13 y d 1*Downlink13 1 4 70 85 2 6 100 14 y d 1*Downlink14 1 4 70 85 2 6 100 15 y d 1*Downlink15 1 4 70 85 2 6 100 16 y d 1*Downlink16 1 4 70 85 2 6 100 17 n d 1*Xconnect1 1 and I want to add say vlan 33, can I just do the >> /cfg/l2/vlan 33 >> VLAN 33# add 1 (Add port 1 to VLAN 33) Current ports for VLAN 33: empty Pending new ports for VLAN 33: 1, or do I need to establish this vlan first in a vlan database i.e.Cisco#vlan database....... second if I do this for all but 17 and 18... and apply and save how comfortable could I be to not take down the network...?
