There is a module by the name radtray that runs on client machines. It is a blue icon in the Windows system tray that animates when any HPCA operation is in progress. Double clicking on the icon provide more information on the progress of the operation.

You also have the self service manager module that provides a full fledged UI to the end-users for performing HPCA operations.

Connect Defer module, if enabled, would provide end users with a UI before HPCA operations are started on client machines.

Further to the above, if you didn't want the users to be aware of a connect taking place, the icon in the system tray can be hidden.

It's also possible, whether the indicator is shown or not, to prompt the user if a reboot is required - or again, this can be hidden if, say, you were performing the connects overnight without users present.
