Can you explain a bit on what you are trying to do (meaning did you switch servers? test vs qa server vs production?
There a few files you will need to edit, but if you can give me more context that will help.

Re: HP CA Standard 7.8 How to switch agent to other management server

HI,

If you are using Self Service then you to modify args.xml (you can package it or point to central Location). If you are only using application Manager then modify the radskman with the new IP. Modify the timers if any.

If you are using SAP then you need to modify the SAP.

More over the implementation configuration should be done using the hostname, so that if there is a change in IP then it should be automatically taken care.

If this is truly CAS, there are 3 other places you will need to edit. Please, if possible, answer my previous question and i should be able to give you the full list of edits.

Re: HP CA Standard 7.8 How to switch agent to other management server

SAPS are used in standard edition, they are just automated and require no user adjustment. The satellite management UI handles this automatically.

Regarding the client edits.
You will need to perform the following process.
1. On the new CAS/Core 7.8 server open HPCA/ManagementPortal/etc/rmp.cfg
Look at the value for listeningaddress
Write that down, for this purpose I will use 'hpca.hp.com' as what my listeningaddress value is

2. On the agent, edit HPCA/Agent/lib/args.xml
Edit the entry and place in there the value from #1 above (in my eexample hpca.hp.com)

3. On the agent, stop the service RMA (net stop rma)
In the HPCA/ManagementAgent folder edit the rma.cfg file and change the line that reads
-url http://oldservername:3466/proc/rmp
to
-url http://hpca.hp.com:3466/proc/rmp

4. Open regedit and browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/System/CurrentControlSet/Services/rma/Parameters and change the url value here as well (replacing only hostname but leaving the url structure intact.

5. restart the RMA service (net start rma)

6. Verify in the new HPCA Core 7.8 server a new device entry exists for this device now.

7. Verify you can successfully deploy software etc to this device.

3a. rma.cfg

Thanks for your answers!
Special thank Steve Berube for detailed instruction.

Switching agents from one server to another need, for example, when the first server crash and another management server is installed.

As follow from instruction, if name of the second server is the same, agents must automatically link to the new server. Rights?

Re: HP CA Standard 7.8 How to switch agent to other management server

Yes, ideally you would control this via DNS and not per agent.

e.g. Lets say you have SERVER1 but you setup a dnsalias called hpca.mycorp.com

hpca.mycorp.com points to server1
if server1 goes down or crashes and you restore it to server2
you can change your dns entry for hpca.mycorp.com to server2 instead. that way no agent changes will be needed.
