Patch MS05-032 and MS05-033

After release of Radalert_00011 I performed a full acquire (no force and replace settings in the acquire) and it seems that MS05-032 and MS05-033 have installation problems with the symptoms of downloading the patch and then starting the install, while installing it stops and requires manual intervention. The symptoms were the same as MS05-054 before the release of RADALERT_00011. The Patch manager is version 1.23. MS05-032 and 033 did work before the release of RADALERT_00011.

Re: Patch MS05-032 and MS05-033

Hi Chantal,

It sounds like the switches to install the patch are incorrect, do you know what the switches should be to avoid manual intervention.

my switches for MS05-033 are :- -q -z -er (although this is using Patch Manager 2.0)

You can find this out by opening PRIMARY.PATCHMGR.BULLETIN.MS05-033.PATCH.&(ID)_*

then selecting the patch i.e. WindowsSXP-KB896428-x86-ENU.EXE the OCREATE variable are the switches.

so on a command line they would be WindowsSXP-KB896428-x86-ENU.EXE -q -z -er.

We had a similar problem on MS05-009 where these switches were incorrect, we ammended them to what they should be and all worked ok.
