Containing Records - Bulk

Hi there,

We are preparing to upgrade to TRIM 7. We currently have 20,000 records that are against a container but not contained.

Is there anyway we can do this bulk?

We do not want to do this manually.

thanks!

I assume that all the records are NOT contained in one specific container?

IF that's the case, you'll have to do a search, container by container, and when the search results show everything that's assigned to the container, then right click, tag all, then right click, select locations, select container (which should show the container number they are assigned too), then check mark "Enclose the Record Now" ...

That should do it.

There's variations of searching for the contents of a container, but the process would be the same for enclosing them using the tag and task option.

Lastly, there's another option, BUT you should contact your TRIM support contractor for help with this, you could "export" the records and then add the column to enclose, then import them back in using the update option.   BUT if you've never done this, you should seek assistance...

I'm curious what you mean by "that are against a container but not contained"?  If you mean enclosed, like TRIMGuru suggests, then why even worry about it?  Enclosure isn't a requirement.

Re: Containing Records - Bulk

Enclosure can affect retention.

They may be trying to schedule the record.

With 20000 documents in a single container, they are in for some pain.
