Reference Files

Hi

Can anyone advise me on how I would change the 'Associate TRIM Context Reference Files with' setting on all the PCs on my domain?

We currently have 6.2.3 installed, and the setting is set to 'TRIM Context'

We're looking to roll out 6.2.5, and I've made the setting 'TRIM Desktop' in the administrative install I've created. When 6.2.5 is installed via Group Policy, however, I still see 'TRIM Context' as the setting.

Cheers

Re: Reference Files

I suppose you could write a .bat and push to your users.

Check out the "ftype" command - C:\ftype /?

Re: Reference Files

There are 4 registry keys you could change via a script:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\TRIM.Record.Reference\Shell\Open\command\: ""C:\Program Files\TRIM Context\TRIM.exe" "%1""
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\TRIM.Record.Reference\Shell\Try URL\Command\: ""C:\Program Files\TRIM Context\TRIM.exe" -u "%1""
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\TRIM5.Record.Reference\Shell\Open\command\: ""C:\Program Files\TRIM Context\TRIM.exe" "%1""
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\TRIM5.Record.Reference\Shell\Try URL\Command\: ""C:\Program Files\TRIM Context\TRIM.exe" -u "%1""

Change each of the TRIM.exe values to TRIMDesktop.exe.
