TRIM 7.2.1.3519 client connecting to 6.2.4 backend does not show global settings

We are upgrading from 6.2.4 to 7.2.1.3519.  Since client has be rolled out first, we are trying a phase out approach.

Testing client 7.2.1.3519 connecting to backend 6.2.4 does not seem to bring global and user settings such as the colour, favourites, saved searches and Recent Documents.

 

Can this be fixed?

No, the global settings system and users config is completel different in TRIM 7 compared to TRIM 6.

 

They are not compatible with each other and user settings/global settings will need to be reconfigured and saved in TRIM 7.

HP do have an internal utility - which I believe they will provide if requested - which will allow for the transfer of users favourites,etc. from their TRIM v6 structure into TRIM V7 server - which now holds a lot of this info.

Some partners have their own utilities which can do this automatically, as well as might Outlook linked folders. If HP doesn't give you their tool maybe reach out to a partner in your area and see if they can assist.

There is also a way to push out the new TRIM 7.1 global settings, even though it's not in the database. Ask your partner about that as well.
