TRIM Licences and running 2 different HP TRIM versions at the same time

Hi all,

The environment:

Win 7, MS Office 2010, HP TRIM 7.1.1828

Are there any issues in :

Using the 2 different versions/builds of HP TRIM : 7.1.1828 and 7.2.23697 (The one with IDOL) at the same time from 2 different Win 7 machines (same logon and TRIM Account) , using roaming profile ...

2.

It is possible to have more Active TRIM USERS than e.g. licence number in HELP, SETUP Information number 1200 ... we have 1213 (13 extra) . Those were re-activated after we reached the number of 1200 users and system would not let us create brand new TRIM User accounts in TRIM.

All 1213 accounts works fine...

So, Any implications in doing this? Also, is TRIM calculating the number of Licenced user based on the number of currently logged in users or something else?

Thanks

Although you've found a way to enable more licenses than you should (this has been around for a long while), you are technically in violation of your licensing agreement. And now since you know you this it means you shouldn't later claim you didn't know!

So don't do it :)

Thanks EWillsey, that's OK, do not worry, happened by accident, it is not practicle to use it like that .. :-) ... Just glad that I "discover" that :-)

Anyway, the question about 2 machines/2 different versions of HP TRIM at the same time? That question is more critical for me.  Global settings, what will happen? What machine first to fire up? Which one should be logged off last?

Anyone?

Regards

Re: TRIM Licences and running 2 different HP TRIM versions at the same time

You should only run two builds from two differing versions as part of an upgrade where the duration of usage is extremely small (within a week or so).

There have been builds in the past where a 7.2 build connecting to an earlier version has completely erase some things. Plus you're unsupported from the HP side of the house.

Fortunately for you there are almost no differences in the registry keys between the builds. Though there are differences within the Outlook integrations and other installed components.

My advice is don't do it in production.
