java 8 blocking Procurve AP 420 web interface

have a bunch of Procurve 420's since Java 8 Update 51 the web interface doesn't work.  Tried IE, Firefox, and Chrome, none work; most throw the following error: "Application Blocked by Java Security".

Tried adding the IP address to the exception list - no luck - It appears the Java console only wants URL's not IP addresses on the local network.

I know these are old products, but we don't have the money to replace them.  I could revert to the command line interface but it's so obscure that those of us who aren't intimately familiar with the hardware find it nearly impossible to use.

Is there a work-around/update that contains a certificate that Java will recognize and not block the GUI.  If not is there a straight forward guide to the CLI.

Re: java 8 blocking Procurve AP 420 web interface

Answered my own question:

Prepend either HTTP:// or HTTPS://  to the ip address in the Java console.
