Firewall MCAffee

Hi,

I hope it's a simple question for you. Customer is using MC Affee Firewall on a W2000 environment.

They can not open any shockwave + java web pages.

Question is this just opening the right ports on the firewall ?

Shockwave port 1626 ???
Java port???

Ore is the problem bigger? And when opening these ports is there a security problem?

Kind regards,

Robert-Jan Goossens,

Re: Firewall MCAffee

Shockwave does use 1626. Found a little article on it which talks about how to set up a firewall for shockwave:

Java shouldn't need a firewall change unless the program is trying something funny. Most likely their IE security level is set to kill off java. In IE6 try Tools/Internet Options/Security and run the "Security Level for this Zone"slider down all the way just to see if that is what is causing it. If it is you set it back to the normal level and then go into Custom Level and turn on Java.
