GSM/GPRS Expansion pack in Singapore

I inquired with Compaq/HP Singapore about the expansion pack and this is what I got: "This is the product that has inherently bugs and defects and the final firmwares are not ready to serve the true-blue GPRS functions. Hence Spore and a number of countries have decided not to sell in the open market". Just wanted to know how true is this as I noticed quite a number of people have used it already with no problem. Just a let down as I was really looking forward to getting one.

Apparently the ROM is country specific so the ROM for your area may not yet be ready. The review also mentions a few bugs so there may be something to that too.
