HP AP420 user login via RADIUS server

I have AP420 wireles access point. It has one user with administrator privileges. Is it possible to use RADIUS (MS IAS) authentication for this user? AP420-s web interface doesn't provide this kind of configuration option and i can't find it from the cli also.

rgrds,
Marek

Re: HP AP420 user login via RADIUS server

Hi, i think AP 420 don't support radius server, it is only supported by AP 530. Regards.

Re: HP AP420 user login via RADIUS server

Hello !

HP ProCurve AP420 DO SUPPORT authentication using external RADIUS server.
The access point supports IEEE 802.1X (802.1X) access control for wireless
clients. It has no internal RADIUS server as AP530.
You can set RADIUS server parameters in the context of Wireless Interfaces SSID Configuration (using both web and CLI interfaces).
As an option you can configure the SWITCH port to which the AP is connected for 802.1X access control via RADIUS.
There is nothing impossible :=)

Good luck,
Dmitry

Re: HP AP420 user login via RADIUS server

Hi I am after doing the same thing as Marek, but have not been able to find any options regarding radius authentication for admin login.

Like Marek, I want to authenticate my admin user against a radius (freeradius) server, opposed to authenticating clients against the radius server.

Is this possible to do, or is it just not available on this access point?

Many Thanks

Tom
