Problems setting up Network load balancing

I have a proliant ML530 server with two network cards installed. The cards work fine independently I am trying to create a team to enable load balancing using the Compaq Network Teaming and Configuration Utility. The process seems fairly straight forward but when the team is created it does not seem to work and a red cross is displayed on the team icon. Can anyone give me a step by step guide on how to make this work
