10Gb Copper Modules HELP

Just a quick question regarding 10Gb Copper CX4 modules available for a number of HP switches. are these uplinks only for direct attach links to other HP switches and stacking? or is it possible to use the !0Gb CX4 to uplink to servers and other devices with suitable NICs?

 

The reason i ask is all the documentation i can find describes these modules as 'local connection'.

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

CX-4 cables are limited in length to less than three metres but the modules can be configured for non-irf purposes
