3824 VLAN Problem
Hi all,
I use 3824G for main switching. I apply VLAN for this switching. We have 400 client that separate in 4 buildings. After apply VLAN we found the problem with ARP table, it show alert that ARP table is full in a second. ARP table can fill 255 device in list how can I do for this case.
Now, we use router to forward pakage in our network that we have got a slow traffic.
For 3824 it make more benefit than router but it can support only 255 address in a time.
Please help me find this solution.

Re: 3824 VLAN Problem
You can try to change the ARP timer, the default is 20 minutes; try to change the ARP timer to 3 minutes.

Re: 3824 VLAN Problem
If you don't have any problem in the network as broadcast storms, duplicated IP addresses or something like this, it's clear to me that you need to purchase a new switch that can handle the traffic in your environment. This 3824 isn't a good device to be positioned as a main switch. You can use the 4800G or the 4500G as your core switch, it will work perfectly.
Regards

Re: 3824 VLAN Problem
Dear Fred
I'm sure that we didn't have any problem with broadcast strom or duplicate IP.
How about 4200G ?
