3Com 5500 PXE broadcast intermittent dropped issues
hi,
I'm running a desktop virtualization environment with ServerPark VDI.
The diskless desktops from VLan2 will bootup via PXE, and obtain VDI image from VLAN2.
both coreswitch and distribution switch are 3cOM 5500
I'm facing a situation where the client during PXE bootup, has a 50% chance that it will not able to obtain the server IP. Upon restarting 1-5 times, the client will then able to find the VDI server IP, and boot up successfully.
Server/VLAN2/
dhcp-server 1 ip 10.71.2.16 10.71.2.11 10.71.2.12 // 10.71.2.16 is the VDI server IP
interface GigabitEthernet1/0/2
stp edged-port enable
broadcast-suppression pps 3000
port access vlan 2
undo jumboframe enable
apply qos-profile default
Client/VLAN6
interface Ethernet1/0/2
stp edged-port enable
broadcast-suppression pps 3000
port access vlan 6
undo jumboframe enable
apply qos-profile default
When we setup the VDI environment in Cisco 2960 switches, it will work perfectly once PortFast + DHCPrelay is configured.
attached is the config files for your reference.
thanks in advance!
