4500 xrn stacking

Hi,

I have a stack of 3x4500 connected trought 1000BaseT ports 1,2 and 3 with 5 VLANs bases port distributed on this stack.

This stack is connected to core switch 5500GXRN fabric 48G with and static link aggregation using 1/0/26 and 3/0/25 AL with trunk permit vlan all config on 4500.

when i isolate U3 from the stack, The users on unit 3 can't communicate on the network. the users on U1& U2 communicate correclty on the LAN.

I have change link aggregation mode from static to manual with the same result.

I there any one has a solution for this problem.

Re: 4500 xrn stacking

Check spanning tree as the 4500 will not allow all members of LA to be active. Also when you disconnect from one side the 4500 while using manual LA what you do is breaking your stack.

This will not work with manual LA: the 4500 will not allow allow you to connect the units in ring and manual LA will not allow you to protect against stack spiltsing (lacp will).

Re: 4500 xrn stacking

can i verify stp on both AL side (5500G AL and 4500 AL).

what's the best mode of AL to be used?

can i disable stp locally on the port AL or globally on the stack?

thanks
