when in sys you can do:
irf?
and there is no recommendation for irf-port even when doing:
irf ?
There is no irf-port recommendation

irf member 1 irf-port 1 port 1
You need to select the member before you can change/select the irf-port.
irf member 1 ?
should give you the right recommendations.

the manual you found is for 2206 and newer. :-)
I suggest you tu upgrade to 2208p01. It includes many features you will like.

As I wrote some posts earlier, is it possible to use the firmware for the 5500 EI( https://h10145.www1.hp.com/downloads/SoftwareReleases.aspx?ProductNumber=JD375A )?
Because on the page for the 4800-24G-SFP there is still the 2202P15:

One last question, only because I don't have a 4800G to test this on:
irf member 1 renumber 2
THe next command to follow shoud be?:
irf member 1 irf-port 2 port Ten-GigabitEthernet1/1/2
OR
irf member 1 irf-port 2 port Ten-GIgabitEthernet2/1/2
OR
irf member 2 irf-port 2 port TenGigabitEthernet2/1/2
ANy help is appreciated
