5400 Series switch with Interswitch connection link

Hi, what STP effect will happen in case of a Inter-switch connection link failure in a environment with distributed trunking with dual homed servers across two chassis.Is there a mechanism to detect the split brain effect and ensure one link becomes blocked in case of the inter-switch connection failure similar to the A-series Multiple-Activity detection mechanism. Or we just have add additional link as a redundancy, hope they never fail.
