5500-El

How do I connect to this switch? I have manged to connect using the console and set an IP address, but when I plug an ethernet cable in I am unable to ping the switch on the IP address. Do I have to use a specific port or activate something extra through the console?

Once you set an ip address and gateway through the console port, you should be able to access it through the web interface, just by typing in the ip address in explorer.



If not you may want to make sure that you have the latest software including the .web file installed.
