5500 XRN question
Hello guys.
We have a staking with 8 5500, we dont configure nothing for the stacking work, the question is, which the diference in just connect the switches for make the stack work and configure it manually?
One day, we have a problem with one of the units and it affected all the network... How we can configure stack for high available ?

Hi,
this is HP A5500-EI (== H3C S5500-EI, 3Com 4800G), not 3Com 5500, right?
Take a look at the irf guide and search for "ring connection".

Man, we just have XRN here dont have IRF.... This switch is rly hard to update because is the core...

Indeed, updating an A5500-EI switch takes a long time as write speed for the flash on these devices is so slow. Be happy, you do not have hundreds of them like some other one here on the forum.
