Can't web manage or ping 4500 switches from subnet
I’m having what I hope is a small problem with some new 3Com 4500 switches I just purchased, I’m hoping someone can assist.
Upon configuring the management interface on each of these 4500’s, I’ve discovered I can only hit the management website while on the same LAN the switch is on. For example, if the switch is part of our 10.2.0.0/23 network, I cannot manage it from an address at another routed LAN, 10.0.0.0/22. Is there some sort of management access I need to enable that’s currently restricting management from anything but the local LAN? I can’t seem to find it, if so.
I have a brand new 4500’G’ switch in the same 10.2.0.0/23 LAN that seems to work as expected, I can manage it from 10.2.1.x and 10.0.1.x

Re: Can't web manage or ping 4500 switches from subnet
solution: the default route is not set on the new switch.
example:
ip route-static 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 10.2.0.1 preference 60
w-b
example:
ip route-static 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 10.2.0.1 preference 60
w-b
