Comware roadmap?
Hi,
is there a roadmap for Comware OS? I´ve read the release notes of 5500 HI switch series. It´s saying something about Release 5101? What about Comware 7? Current switch OS infos tell me something about Comware 5.2.
What´s the difference? How long will every release tree be supported?
Which (new) features will be integrated in the furture? Which switch will see which release? When will we see it? Which switch series will get Comware 7/8/9 in future? Can someone give some details?
Is there any feature roadmap available?

Re: Comware roadmap?
AFAIK, Comware 7 is only on the 59xx switches at the moment.

Re: Comware roadmap?
Hi,
Switches with Comware 3 are not upgradable to Comware 5 and those with Comware 5 cannot support Comeware7.
only 5900 series Switches support comeware 7 actually.
one of the features added in comware 7 is PVST.
hope it will be helpful.

Re: Comware roadmap?
I just noticed on HP Product Bulletin under HP 5400 zl a NEW Feature:
NEW Comware CLI
- Comware-compatible CLI
- bridges the experience of Comware CLI users who are using the ProVision software CLI
- Display and fundamental Comware CLI commands
- are embedded in the switch CLI as native commands; display output formatted as on Comware-based switches; fundamental commands provide a Comware-familiar initial switch setup
- Configuration Comware CLI commands
- entered Comware CLI configuration commands elicit CLI help formulating the correct ProVision software CLI command
Meaning... some of the ProVision Switches will be updated with Comware software... you do the math.

Re: Comware roadmap?
Hello,
what about openflow support for Comware 5.2 HP 5800-24G Switch (JC100A)? What about openflow support for comware 7?
Cheers,
Thomas

Re: Comware roadmap?
PVST has been added in comware v5 aswell (A5820X since firmware 1305P01).
Im now just waiting for HP to include DHCP Class based on Option82 values (such as circuit-id) to arrive to comware v5 aswell :-)

Re: Comware roadmap?
As far as I understand OpenFlow is supported in Comware 7.
For some platforms it might get supported in Comware 5.
Cowmare 7 is also available for the 12500 series.

Comware v7 on 10500 (with the new MPU), 12900, 11900, 5900, 5900CP, 5920, 5930 etc
Download a VSR and have a play.

Re: Comware roadmap?
- 5500-HI also received openflow 1.3 support with the latest release.
But let´s talk about some other features I´d like to see:
- IEEE 802.1AQ, shortest path bridging for Comware 5 based devices, as no new ASICs are need for this one (in contrast to IETF´s TRILL).
- IPv6 multicast routing support for VRF/MCE on A5500-EI / A5500-HI (A5800 has it already for some time)
- enhanced QoS debugging on 5500-EI / 5500-HI, i.e. "display qos queue-statistics" (A5800 has it...)
Perhaps someone knows more?
