Console logon
Where can I go to find documentation on how to change the console password and create a logon banner for HPE 5130?
Thanks,

Re: Console logon
Hello,
Here's a method that (almost) always works:
type "5130ei swtch series" in your fave search engine
Navigate to product page on HPE dot com
Click -> Technical Support / Manuals
"manuals" tab -> Setup & Install - General ->
Look for - Fundamentals for Console access - maybe security for the Banner
The "series Configuration Guides Index" - tells you which topcs are covered by which manuals
HTH
Kudos and Solved buttons tell others that you found this post useful - don't be shy of clicking to say thanks!
Ian

Re: Console logon
Hi,
as @Ian Vaughan suggested the best place to start with (Google is not always necessary if you remember to start browsing the official HPE web site!) is the HPE Website itself, there you will be able to find the "Support" link (look at top right side) which will then open the HPE Enterprise Support portal, once into the HPE Enterpise Support portal (bookmark it!) you will find the HPE Servers, Storage and Networking support link (It's under Product Support): there you can start to look for your specific Switch model/family (using the Product Name or Number, as example).
Try with "HPE 5130 EI" and then select the "HPE FlexNetwork 5130 EI Switch Series", related support content will be retrieved and finally you will land into the specific HPE FlexNetwork 5130 EI Switch Series support page, where you will be able to find, respectively:
and more.
For a fast access you can also jump directly into the HPE Netwokring Lookup Tool portal (see at linked Advisory's bottom for its URL).
As @Ian Vaughan pointed out you're looking for specific Comware commands: one for password management, the other one for banner (known as header in Comware jargon) management.
The HPE FlexNetwork 5130 EI Switch Series Fundamentals Command Reference is the manual to start with if you want to manage headers.
At page 203 you will be able to find the header command: with the header {incoming|legal|login|motd|shell} text command you will be able to customize your texts respectively for Incoming, Legal, Login, MOTD, Shell cases.
The HPE FlexNetwork 5130 EI Switch Series Fundamentals Configuration Guide is the manual to start with if you want to manage CLI/Logins (start on page 19).
Here you go!
Note: Product's QuickSpecs and Datasheet can instead be found if you browse directly into Product Page through the HPE official web site.
