DHCP Relay Server not working properly in multiple VLANS on HP A 5500 L3 switch
We have HP A 5500 L3 switch and configured with multiple VLANS. A windows DHCP server is for IP distribution. When we configure DHCP Relay Server it is distributing the IP, but when we change the pc to other VLAN then the pc is getting the IP of previous VLAN.
In other words, the first IP configuration is getting by pc in any VLAN remains same when we change the pc to other VLAN. Suppose we have 5 VLANS configured naming VLAN1, VLAN2,VLAN3,VLAN4 and VLAN5.
Interface IP for VLANS:
Interface Vlan1 192.168.1.1
Interface Vlan2 192.168.2.1
Interface Vlan3 192.168.3.1
Interface Vlan4 192.168.4.1
Interface Vlan5 192.168.5.1
Now if I put one pc (test1) in VLAN1 then it is getting accurate IP settings. Suppose 192.168.1.10 255.255.255.0 192.168.1.1 4.2.2.2 and second pc (test2) in VLAN5 it is also getting the accurate IP i.e. 192.168.5.10 255.255.255.0 192.168.5.1 4.2.2.2
But when I change the pc (test1) to VLAN5 and pc (test2) to VLAN1 then both the pc stick to the old IP configuration and not getting the IP of respective VLANS. i.e PC (test1) is still getting the IP 192.168.1.10 255.255.255.0 192.168.1.1 4.2.2.2 in VLAN5 as well and PC (test2) is getting the IP 192.168.5.10 255.255.255.0 192.168.5.1 4.2.2.2 in VLAN1.
Please help me get out of it.

Re: DHCP Relay Server not working properly in multiple VLANS on HP A 5500 L3 switch
Pankaj,
Did you try releasing and renewing the DHCP Address on the PC? It should make a new request and change to the new VLAN IP range.
Regards,
David

Re: DHCP Relay Server not working properly in multiple VLANS on HP A 5500 L3 switch
Hi,
old post, but because no solution provided, I want to add my 5 cents
Same problem here...
We found, the Windows DHCP server is the problem. You should delete the lease in dhcp mmc and try again.
