I am looking at the E5500 Switches to replace our current E2810s. One thing that I am curious about is the stacking ports. I know that you can make a mesh using the stacking ports so that if a switch fails, the network stays up.

What I am curious about is the fact that the manual says that when using the stacking ports you can manage them as a single entity.

Does this mean that you can split up a trunk (port aggregation) onto two switches?

Thanks for any input
