EVI : ethernet virtualization interconnect
Hi,
have someone already implemented EVI ? Could you share some expierence?
In all the documents I find, all the examples are with an ISP between the datacenters. Now in my case I do not have a provider. It is all dark fiber that mean I have to build my own 'ISP provider'. For this I do not find any info.
My question are for ex. Do I need a layer3 network in between or could I connect all the devices in a layer2 network?

Re: EVI : ethernet virtualization interconnect
Hi ,
If you have Layer 2 network between your data centers and if you can carry your vlans then you might not need EVI.
EVI is helpfull when you dont have dark fiber and your connection between data centers is L3 but you need L2.

Re: EVI : ethernet virtualization interconnect
Your are rigth about the layer 2. But I was thinking to use EVI so I do not need spanning tree in my network.
