HP 3Com System Clock configuration flushed after reboot
Hi,
I would like to ask if is there a way to configure the System clock locally for a HP 3Com E5500G and E4210 switches.
The documentation says that through the clock command from user view, it can be changed and it is right, but after a reboot the time is flushed and the clock time is reset to default.
Im doing it like this:
<5500G> clock date time 08:48:00 2011/08/05
<5500G> clock timezone COLOMBIA minus 05:00:00
and a display clock shows the right information but after a reboot the config is vanished.
Is it possible to setup locally or it has to be configured via NTP ?
Thank you very much.
P.S. This thread has been moved from ProCurve / ProVision-Based to Comware-Based. -HP Forum Moderator

Just use NTP, should be pretty much mandatory in a network anyways ;]

Re: HP 3Com System Clock configuration flushed after reboot
Hey Fredrik, i appreciate your input, and i agree that a centralized NTP service would have huge advantages for events across distributed devices, but at this very moment it is difficult for me to have access to a NTP server from the swicthes side and i really would like to be able to setup the time locally, it is strange to me that it couldn't be done.
Thank you.
