HP 5120-48G-POE JG237A and HP 5120-24G-POE JG236A compatibility for stacking

hello, i would like to know what are the modle og HP switch i would have to buy in order to be able to stack them with HP 5120-48G-POE JG237A and HP 5120-24G-POE JG236A. Can someone help me ? Thanks. Nancy

It is only possible to make stacking (IRF) with switches of the same family.

Hi Nancy!

AND you need either 10gb Fiber transceivers or DAC cables to connect them together.  Also, to ensure survivability, you should loop them.  So for example, if you have 3 5120 switches that you are going to build an IRF stack with you need connections from:

Switch 1 to Switch 2

Switch 2 to Switch 3

Switch 1 to Switch 3

With those connections in place, the stack will survive the failure of any one stack member.
