HP 5500 EI (JD377A) - NTP Server
I'd like to configure the switch s a NTP SERVER for other network devices.
I was trying these commands:
# Specify the local clock as the reference source, with the stratum level 2 on Switch A.
<SwitchA> system-view
[SwitchA] ntp-service refclock-master 2
but the switch does not know the refclock-master option
Do I need to do somethig else or this switch cannot be an ntp server?
Thanks!

Re: HP 5500 EI (JD377A) - NTP Server
Alceo,
What version of software are you running on that? WIthout knowing that we can't help you.
Why do you want to make the switch the master? The clock in a switch is not very accurate. If you point it at the ntp Pool Project servers that are near your location, assuming that the switch can get out on the Internet and you allow access to Port 123, you will have a much better time source and the switch can redistribute a much more accurate time base.
Check out http://www.pool.ntp.org/en/ for more information.

Re: HP 5500 EI (JD377A) - NTP Server
Hi, software version:
HP A5500-24G
comware software v 5.20.99 release 2220p02
hw version rev.c
cpld version 002
bootrom 715
I can't use an external ntp server, this network is not connected to the internet, only used for video surveillance.
I need a common source for the NVRs and the cameras.
is there a way to check which version support a specific command?
Thanks!
