I have two A5500-48G EI switches that I need to stack. I use two-port 10G modules and CX4 cables. IRF is established, and everything is ok while I use one connection between the switches only. As soon as I connect the second CX4 cable, everything stops working.
Actually, I would like to aggregate two physical ports for each irf-port. In the master switch 10G module is at module position 1, physical ports 1 and 2 are dedicated to irf-port 1; and in the slave 10G module is at positon 2, physical ports 3 and 4 are dedicated to irf-port 2. So, if I connect one cable between the irf-ports only it is ok, if I connect both cables, it doesn't work. I'm not sure if this config is right?
Thanks!

SolutionHi,
From your configs I'm guessing you have something like this:
irf member 1 irf-port 1 port 2 irf member 2 irf-port 2 port 4
right?
You should be able to list two physical ports as each virtual irf-port as this:
irf member 1 irf-port 1 port 1 2 irf member 2 irf-port 2 port 3 4
[lab]irf member 1 irf-port 1 port 1 2 ? <1,2,3,4> Port can be used for IRF-port or aggregated with other ports as IRF-port <cr>

Re: HP A5500-48G EI IRF-port aggregation problem
thanks srg!
it is ok now. For some reason I beleived that I should enter two commands for aggregation (for two ports), i.e.
irf member 1 irf-port 1 port 1
irf member 1 irf-port 1 port 2
only just started with h3c... :)

HP A5500-48G EI IRF

Could you tell how to config these and I need of port aggregation.
Thanks!
