HP FF 5700 32XGT

Hi,

Looking to find a solution to a problem with a switch configuration. I had resolved this but I don't remember what the end result had been.

The current problem is my dhcp server keeps getting BAD_ADDRESS and it fills my scope. My FF 5700 is my backend network switch for storage which is vlan-ed. I do have VLAN 1 untagged.

In the DHCP log I get these entries:

10,02/20/17,22:38:37,Assign,10.1.121.32,,653866372E323430382E643437352D566C616E31,,3336358920,0,,,,0x4850452E2048504520464620353730302D33325847542D3858472D32515346502B20537769746368,HPE. HPE FF 5700-32XGT-8XG-2QSFP+ Switch,,,,0
13,02/20/17,22:38:39,Conflict,10.1.121.32,BAD_ADDRESS,,,0,6,,,,,,,,,0
10,02/20/17,22:38:46,Assign,10.1.121.33,,653866372E323430382E643437352D566C616E31,,407931667,0,,,,0x4850452E2048504520464620353730302D33325847542D3858472D32515346502B20537769746368,HPE. HPE FF 5700-32XGT-8XG-2QSFP+ Switch,,,,0
13,02/20/17,22:38:48,Conflict,10.1.121.33,BAD_ADDRESS,,,0,6,,,,,,,,,0

So I kind of know the culprit.

Question is, what have I inadvertently caused to make it react to the DHCP server like this? deleting the bad_address out of the scope is the only option right now.

Attached is my switch port config.

Re: HP FF 5700 32XGT

I had a power outage that exhausted my UPSs. I had previously added the line 30 "ip address dhcp-alloc" to my native vlan.

I must not have saved it in the config, so after removing that line by command below, it resolved my problem. Operator error.

system-view

interface vlan-interface 1

undo ip address dhcp-alloc

I had a heck of a time converting to this switch, but other than the weird documentation format, It works pretty well.
