HPE 5945 - new first login console
Hi,
I have installed a new switch 5945 and i want login for the very first time through console. I press the CTRL-D or CTRL-C to break the autoconfig. Which i normally on others models like 5510.
After i break the autoconfig, i see login prompt via the console. I have tried username: admin with no password, but that failed.
Is there another default login details with console connection?
Thanks in advance.
regards,
ManYau

Re: HPE 5945 - new first login console
Hi @manyaulee !
Seems like somebody was playing with the configuration of this switch and locked the console access with username/password. You need to boot to the Extended Boot Menu and choose "Skip current system configuration" then reboot. On the next boot the switch will start with empty configuration and console will be unlocked. Do not forget to run "save safely force" as soon as you log into the switch to write the default config as "saved-configuration".

Re: HPE 5945 - new first login console
Hi,
I did what you suggest it, but that didn't work. so i have choose " Change authentication for console login" in the extend boot menu. After reboot i was able to login the switch with console.
EXTENDED BOOT MENU
1. Download image to flash
2. Select image to boot
3. Display all files in flash
4. Delete file from flash
5. Restore to factory default configuration
6. Enter BootRom upgrade menu
7. Skip current system configuration
8. Set switch startup mode
9. Set default boot storage medium
0. Reboot
Ctrl+F: Format file system
Ctrl+P: Change authentication for console login
Ctrl+R: Download image to SDRAM and run
Ctrl+C: Display Copyright
regards,
