How to put older version of firmware onto 4 switch stack
Hi there,
I am currently running the laterst software on my 5945 stack. What are the steps to bring it down to an older version? Is the a document that runs through that process?
Thanks in advance?

Re: How to put older version of firmware onto 4 switch stack
Hi @prodigy811 !
In this case I'd advise you to use upgrading device software by using the boot loader method (using 'boot-loader file ...' command). Terms 'upgrade' and 'downgrade' are interchangeable in this case. This will require a downtime, because you will need to reboot the whole stack at once. In general the downgrade in this case won't be different from upgrade, you will just upload older images and point those with 'boot-loader file' command, that's the only difference.
You can try ISSU method as well, but it can be hit and miss, so the safest bet is boot-loader method.

Re: How to put older version of firmware onto 4 switch stack
Many thanks Ivan,
That makes good sense. Incidentally, is there any documentation for ISSU process for 2 switch stack and a 4 switch stack etc?

For the 2-slot IRF ISSU upgrade you can check Fundamentals Configuration Guide, "Examples of using issu commands for ISSU", "Example: Upgrading a feature to a compatible version". https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docLocale=en_US&docId=a00098721en_us
