How to reset 2916SFP+ password

Hi. I have a 2916+ baseline switch. I have lost admin password. I tried to enter in failsafe mode via serial connection, but i'm not able to give "ctrl+c" command. I have tried with windows hyperterminal (ctrl+break), with teraterm (alt+b), with putty but with no success.

How can i do?

Thanks to all.

F.

Hello;

You must connect to console and than restart the switch

and follow the following instructions :

Baseline 2916

power cycle the switch

Testing the System SDRAM........PASS

Boot1 Checksum Test

CTRL / Shift - (minus)

When "Autoboot in 2 seconds- press Return or Esc" is seen

Press Enter Immediately

At The Startup Menu

Select Password Recovery

Select Back

In the terminal connection settins you must check linux keyboard.

Not VT100 as in manual.

Re: How to reset 2916SFP+ password

I had the same problem with a 2924 SFP Plus.

My solution:

- hit "CTRL / Shift - (minus)" ONCE

- hit ENTER shortly before "Autoboot in 2 seconds" appears
