IRF Best Practice - Moving one switch to another place
Hi All,
we have a very basic IRF construct with 2 x 5900AF switches. On each switch there are several access and dc switches redundant connected.
Now we need to move one switch from one to another room. What is the best way with the least disruption.
Should I make sure the highest priority is the switch which stay in the room? And what happens if we connect the switches together again? Normally I will test a situation like this in a lab. But we have only a small timeframe to do this change.
Thanks
Udo

Re: IRF Best Practice - Moving one switch to another place
Assuming you will use the same interfaces as IRF ports after you move the switch, this should not be a problem. I would leave the master in the current room. You may want to look at MAD to avoid split-brain if the IRF link should fail.
