If 2 flexfabric core switches are configured IRF, will be any packet loss if one core switch down?

Hi, If 2 flexfabric core switches are configured IRF, will be any packet loss if one core switch down? One edge switch is configured 2 uplinks with lacp to core swtiches, and pc is connected to this edge switch. Now perform continous ping from pc to server farm machine which the ping traffic will go through the core swtiches. If one core switch down, will be any ping packet loss? I use Network simulator to test, there are 3 packet drop. Anyone can advise please, thanks in advance.

Hi,

There should be minimal RTO since the ARP,MAC entry should be taken over by slave unit to forwards the packets.

However real HW behaviour efficiency is different than simulator. I would suggest to test with real HW.

If you have connfigured aggregation you can use lacp period short or lacp mad concept to switchvover the traffic quickly.

Thanks,
