Injecting routes based on VRRP status

Hi,

i have some stretched VLANs accross 2 DCs which use VRRP for making the default-gw available. The paths towards WAN and Internet are full L3 and we use OSPF.

Currently both VRRP members announces the Subnet into the OSPF Area, which causes sometimes asymetric traffic flows over the firewalls.

Is it possible to announce the Subnet ONLY on the VRRP master?

What NOT works is using the VRRP IP in the areas network statement, and NQA, BFD and/or track doesn't seem to help either.

Thx and BR,

Michael

Re: Injecting routes based on VRRP status

Hi Michael

I was thinking about different scenarios, but I think there's no way.

I think the best way is to lower the ospf link cost on the normal VRRP-Master. Then the OSPF path over the VRRP-Master will be used.
