Number of virtual interfaces

I have a question regarding number of supported virtual interfaces on A series switches, and possibly E2910.

One of our customers has A5120 EI and neds to add more virtual interfaces, while the switch only supports 8, so they would like to upgrade to A5500 SI or EI  or possibly E2910.

There is no mention in datasheets of this parameter. Can anybody please help or check if you have the switch?

Thanks!

Re: Number of virtual interfaces

Do you mean the number of VPN instances (i.e. VRF lite), or the number of supplementary IPs on VLAN interfaces, or something else?

Re: Number of virtual interfaces

Hi!

For the A-Series Switches you can see the limits in the original datasheets on the H3C Website only I think.

Search for "VLAN Virtual interfaces" in the specification section:

For Example A5120 it is really only 8:

http://www.h3c.com/portal/Products___Solutions/Products/Switches/H3C_S5120-EI_Series_Switches/Data_Sheet/200909/649651_57_0.htm

The 58x0 supports 1k VLAN Virtual interfaces.

I think that the E2910al Switches don't have such a limit.

Hope this helps!
