Hello,
As peer I know "Per Vlan Spanning Tree Plus PVST+" is not supported by many HP Switchs. Is it supported by HP A5820X products?
I Could not find this information in the product specifications.
Thanks & Regards
Lhaj

Re: Per VLAN Spanning Tree in HP A5820X Switchs
Isn't PVST+ Cisco proprietary? I don't think any A-Series switch support the feature.

Re: Per VLAN Spanning Tree in HP A5820X Switchs
PVST+ runs on 802.1q links. 802.1q is a networkingstandard promulgated by the IEEE.
PVST is the implementation of STP on ISL links (Cisco proprietary multi-VLAN encapsulation).

Re: Per VLAN Spanning Tree in HP A5820X Switchs
PVST+ is Cisco proprietary. Some vendors use it, under licence from Cisco, one assumes.

Re: Per VLAN Spanning Tree in HP A5820X Switchs
A-Series switches support IEEE 802.1s MSTP, which is much faster than PVST+, I don't see any reason to run PVST+ on an A-Series switch.

Re: Per VLAN Spanning Tree in HP A5820X Switchs
the Customer IP Backbone switchs are running PVST+. Therefore we are forced to adapt to the existing.
