Portal Authentication
Hello;
Anyone Could you please information about Portal
Authentication ( Web Authentication ) that supported
by 3COM 4800G and 4500G and also other switches.
5500 and 5500G support web authentication without
external portal server I test it.
4800G Configuration guides says the following :
system-view
radius scheme rs1
server-type extended
primary authentication 192.168.0.112
primary accounting 192.168.0.112
key authentication radius
key accounting radius
user-name-format without-domain
quit
domain dm1
authentication portal radius-scheme rs1
authorization portal radius-scheme rs1
accounting portal radius-scheme rs1
quit
domain default enable dm1
Everything up to here with the same 802.1x than ;
portal server newpt ip 192.168.0.111 key portal port 50100 url
http://192.168.0.111/portal
That's where the problem starts what is the portal server ? Is there a Web Server or switch itself or etc.. ?
Could you please information about portal authentication and portal server ??
Best Regards

Re: Portal Authentication
Hi,
have you found the solution? I├В┬┤m not an expert, but I├В┬┤d try the IP of your switch.

Re: Portal Authentication
Hello Kimera;
I think i must use 3COM IMC + UAM Module (User Access Managament)for portal authentication.
3COM 5500 Series supports web authentication via local switch IP address but new portal authentication different from old web authentication supported by 3COM 5500 series...
PS : Where is the 3COM Suport Engineer ???

Re: Portal Authentication
So, the web portal authentication is no more?
Is a separate server which holds the portal necessary?
