Problem with A5120 IRF Stack, after reboot IRF is gone
Hi
I have a problem with 2 A5120 Switches. The one we have wit one 10GB Module we do not have any Problem, but I have 2 Switches with 2 10GB modules each. If i create a IRF Stack Switch 1 Module1 Port 2 with Switch2 Module1 Port1 it works, till I do a reboot, then the IRF does not work anymore.
I tested following combination:
SwitchA Module 1 Port 2 - SwitchB Module 1 Port 1
SwitchA Module 1 Port 2 - SwitchB Module 2 Port 1
SwitchA Module 1 Port 1 - SwitchB Module 1 Port 1
Alwas the same problem. I also saved the configuration after acctivated the IRF.
Any idea?
If config is needed I can send them tomorrow.
Best,
Marco

Re: Problem with A5120 IRF Stack, after reboot IRF is gone
It is a out of the box configuration, so I start first to configure the irf:
Switch A:
irf-port 1/2
port group interface Ten-GigabitEthernet1/1/2 mode normal
Switch B
irf-port 2/1
port group interface Ten-GigabitEthernet2/2/1 mode normal
After set active, the Switch B reboot and the IRF is established
Everything works well till I reboot the switches. After reboot the IRF, both switch are like standalone
Log from Switch A:
Ten-GigabitEthernet1/1/2: The transceiver is 10G_BASE_STACK_SFP.
%Apr 26 12:01:23:498 2000 H3C CFM/4/CFM_LOG:
Command port group interface Ten-GigabitEthernet2/2/1 mode normal fails to recover configuration.
Log from Switch B:
Ten-GigabitEthernet2/2/1: The transceiver is 10G_BASE_STACK_SFP.
%Apr 26 12:21:26:844 2000 H3C IFNET/3/LINK_UPDOWN: Ten-GigabitEthernet2/2/1 link status is UP.
%Apr 26 12:21:32:972 2000 H3C CFM/4/CFM_LOG:
Command port group interface Ten-GigabitEthernet1/1/2 mode normal fails to recover configuration.
Thanks for your help.
Best
Marco

Re: Problem with A5120 IRF Stack, after reboot IRF is gone
Now I did an extended test:
Removed the second 10Gig Module on both switches and configured the IRF like following:
irf-port 1/1
port group interface Ten-GigabitEthernet1/1/1 mode normal
#
irf-port 2/2
port group interface Ten-GigabitEthernet2/1/2 mode normal
Everything works well, also after a reboot. Then I powered off both switches reconnected the removed 10G Modules and booted. IRF is not working now. I'm not sure if that should work or not.
