RRPP with only 2 nodes?

Hi,

At this moment we have a RRPP ring with 3 nodes (3 sites). In a few month, we'll close one site.

The 2 remaining sites will are connected with 2 link: a primary 10Gbps ethernet link, and a "backup" link 1Gbps ethernet.

If the 2 links were the same type (same bandwidth), i could make an lacp aggrégation to have redondancy, but it's not my case.

So i would like to know if an RRPP ring with only 2 nodes is possible? i think yes but i would like to have the confirmation.

Thanks.

Vincent

Re: RRPP with only 2 nodes?

Hello Vincent,

It is also working in a two node scenario. RRPP does not really care the number of nodes in the ring.  Another possibility is the use of the smartlink feature.

Great! it's perfect for me. I will also take a look at the the smart link feature.

Thank you.
