Slow transfer rate over LAN

Hi.

I'm posting this because I didn't found it any topic about this theme.

Attached a simple LAN's overview.

The speed rate is very slow like 50 MB/s sometimes 65 MB/s.

All 1910 switches are connected to the core switch through a LAG 2 GB.

Misconfiguration is a possible problem to decrease the network performance?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Slow transfer rate over LAN

Which transfers are slow (source? , destination?) and what are switch configs?

Re: Slow transfer rate over LAN

Hi.

The transfers from server to the workstations are slow. Exactly the File Server running a MD3200 Dell Storage.
The other storage (Synology) with 8 LAN ports in dynamic LAG is slow too when I try to copy a file from.

The switch configuration files is attached. The only switch that is plugged in the core switch through 1 GB (ethernet) is the #3.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Slow transfer rate over LAN

65MB/s isn't very slow, it equals 520Mbit/s.  Throughput on Gbit network maxes out at about 800Mb/s
Beware your speed test isn't limited by the hard drive speed on client

Re: Slow transfer rate over LAN

Yeah. I can consider as normal the transfer rate. I did a test transferring from one server to another and the average is 115 MB/second which means 920 Mbit/second.

I thought that a possible issue over the switches was causing this slowness, but this is not a real "slowness" in a gigabit LAN scenario. Am I right to think in this way?

Thank you.
